Virgin Atlantic
Singapore Airlines said it is in talks with "interested parties" to sell its 49 percent stake in billionaire Richard Branson’s Virgin Atlantic carrier, and The Associated Press cited unidentified sources in saying that Delta Air Lines is a suitor. A deal for Virgin Atlantic would, among other things, give Delta more access to London’s Heathrow Airport.

Former presidential candidate and Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is returning to Marriott International’s board of directors. He’s held the post with the hotel chain twice before. The first time was from 1993 to 2002, when he left to campaign for governor of Massachusetts, and from 2009 to 2011, when he left to start his campaign for the presidency. It’s the first job announcement Romney has made since he lost the November election.

Benedict XVI, the pope known for his hefty volumes of theology, is trying brevity and will be getting the word out through his own Twitter account. The pontiff intends to start tweeting Dec. 12, using his personal handle @Pontifex to respond live to questions about faith.
Fannie, Freddie
put holiday
evictions on hold
Government-backed mortgage lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac said Monday they would provide a break for borrowers facing foreclosure to ensure that those having problems making monthly payments would remain in their homes through the holidays. Fannie Mae said its eviction moratorium would apply to single-family and two- to four-unit properties from Dec. 19 through Jan. 2. Freddie Mac will hold off from Dec. 17 through Jan. 3.
