Jennifer Evans, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, has joined Rocky Mountain Women's Health Center in West Point. Evans earned her medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Afterward, she completed an obstetrics/gynecology residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Gregory Baker, a board-certified neurologist with nine years of experience in private practice and government settings, has opened Davis Neurology Associates in Layton. The practice is a member of Physician Group of Utah. Baker earned his medical degree from Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in neurology at Michigan State University.

The Bank of American Fork has hired Dale Smith to serve as the manager of its new branch in Layton. He has more than 30 years of banking experience. Laurie Criddle has been hired as operations manager. Mike Adams, who has 20 years of mortgage banking experience, has been hired as the branch's mortgage loan officer.

The Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration announced that Vishal Gupta of FLSmidth in Midvale has been selected as the 2012 recipient of the Industrial Minerals & Aggregates Division's Outstanding Young Scientist Award. Established in 1995, the award recognizes members who have significantly contributed to the workings of the society and the Industrial Minerals & Aggregates Division, and who have an outstanding reputation for professionalism and accomplishments.

Hilary Seibert, a board-certified family medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience in private practice, group practice and hospital settings, has opened North Pointe Medical Clinic in Tooele. The clinic is a member of Physician Group of Utah. Seibert earned her medical degree from Michigan State University. She completed a Family Medicine residency at Rocky Mountain Hospital in Denver.

The Utah College of Applied Technology has selected David R. Woolstenhulme as campus president of the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College. Woolstenhulme is associate director for the Utah State University Uintah Basin Regional Campus, where he began serving in 1997 as student relations coordinator and also has since served as director of student services, interim executive director and executive in residence.

Clint Gardner, student writing center coordinator for Salt Lake Community College, has won the 2012 Ron Maxwell Award for Distinguished Leadership in Promoting the Collaborative Learning Practices of Peer Tutors in Writing. The award was presented earlier this month at the 29th annual National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing in Chicago.

The Utah Business Insurance Co. has selected Clarissa Crisp as the organization's new controller. A certified financial examiner, Crisp for the past few years has been employed with the state Insurance Department, serving as the examiner-in-charge. Before that she worked as a credit manager for KSTU Fox13.

W. Timothy Miller, a certificated flight instructor from West Jordan, has won a Flight Training Excellence Award from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the largest aviation association in the world. He was selected from almost 2,500 nominations. The award recognizes instructors who are providing the highest standard of training and customer service.
