Two former top executives at Utah-based FranklinCovey Co., who announced in early October that they were launching their own productivity and performance training company, said they now struck an alliance with author David Allen and will be distributing products based upon his work.
Allen’s products use principles spelled out in his best-selling book, Getting Things Done: the Art of Stress-Free Productivity.
"The David Allen Company offers the best productivity training in the world and we look forward to joining forces," said David M.R. Covey, who along with Stephan Mardyks recently founded SMCOV, a business that they described as a "global training network."
Covey said he and Mardyks are especially excited about the launching of Allen’s newest product.
The Mastering Workflow Series is a program designed to improve individual and organizational results, Covey explained in a statement announcing the partnership with Allen. "Anyone participating in this new program will have access to universally proven best practices, as well as a wide range of integrated services and products that are continuously being enhanced and expanded."
Allen said the alliance with Covey and Mardyks’ company will enhance the distribution of his training methods.
"The task of building a viable distribution model for global consumption of methodology is daunting, to say the least," Allen said. "So it’s been wonderful to partner with the SMCOV team, who bring to the game unparalleled experience and resources in this area. They have saved us tons of energy, allowing us to focus on what we do best and leverage it on a much broader scale."
Mardyks and Covey, a son of the late management expert Stephen R. Covey, both previously served as co-chief operating officers of FranklinCovey before founding their own business in Dallas two years ago.
