The following products and vehicles were recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Unless otherwise indicated, discontinue use of the products immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund. For more information about the products, call the manufacturer or CPSC's toll-free hotline, 800-638-2772. Only some cars or trucks recalled are affected. Contact a dealer for your model to see if it is included in the recall. The dealer will tell you what to do.
Product • GE Profile front-load washers
Problem • The washer's basket can separate during use and break the washer's top panel, posing an injury hazard. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled washers and contact GE for a free repair. Vehicles • 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT, 2006-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy XL, Buick Rainier, SAAB 9-7x and Isuzu Ascender.
Problem • Fluid may enter the driver's door module, causing corrosion that could result in a short in the circuit board. A short may cause the power door lock and power window switches to function intermittently or become inoperative. The short may also cause overheating, which could melt components, producing odor, smoke or a fire. The remedy plan is still being finalized, and a notification schedule has not been determined. Buick, Chevrolet and GMC owners will be notified by GM. Buick owners may contact the owner center at 800-521-7300, Chevrolet owners at 866-694-6546 and GMC owners at 866-996-9463. Isuzu owners will be notified by Isuzu Motors. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 800-255-6727. SAAB owners will be notified by SAAB Cars North America, and for inquiries, owners may call SAAB customer service at 855-880-0808.
