The Utah chapter of the American Planning Association honored Envision Utah with two awards at its annual fall conference in Provo.

Envision's Wasatch Canyons Tomorrow process received the "Outstanding Achievement Award."

More than 15,000 Utahns participated in that planning effort, which is the first step in updating Salt Lake County's master plans for the canyons.

Envisioned Utah also received the "Special Recognition Award" for past and continuing contributions to planning in the state.

"We appreciate this recognition by the state's leading planning organization," said Envision Utah's Robert Grow. "We look forward to continuing to partner with stakeholders and residents to implement quality growth principles around the state."

Envision Utah is an organization whose goal is to facilitate public involvement in land use, transportation and environmental planning through grassroots, voluntary and market-based efforts.
