U.S. Bank is operating a branch inside the Walmart at 1200 S. Commerce Way in Brigham City. The opening will be marked with various activities from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday. Hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

Yahoo ushered in Marissa Mayer as its new CEO with a tepid third-quarter earnings report that still managed to top analyst estimates. Yahoo hired Mayer away from rival Google in mid-July to orchestrate its latest turnaround attempt. Investors applauded the early progress Monday, as Yahoo shares gained 48 cents, or 3 percent, to $16.25 in extended trading.

Caterpillar sees

slower growth

ahead for 2013

Caterpillar Inc., the world's largest maker of construction and mining equipment, forecast sales growth for 2013 that will be the slowest in four years, citing a slowdown in the global economy. It reported its third-quarter net income increased to $1.7 billion, or $2.54 a share, from $1.14 billion, or $1.71, a year earlier. Sales increased to $16.4 billion from $15.7 billion.
