Two Utah organizations providing education services to youth have been awarded grants from the Daniels Fund.
The Mountainville Academy in Alpine received an $18,500 grant for the purchase of "SMART Boards" for classrooms and Utah Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy in West Jordan received the same amount to help it continue its work.

"These organizations set a high standard for excellence in serving the people of Utah," said Linda Childears, president and CEO of the Daniels Fund.
The Daniels Fund will award a projected $1.6 million in grants to Utah nonprofits in 2012. Funding areas include: aging, alcoholism and substance abuse, amateur sports, disabilities, early childhood education, K-12 education reform, ethics and integrity in education, homeless and disadvantaged and youth development.
Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television who owned the ABA’s Utah Stars, established the Daniels Fund to operate the Daniels Fund Scholarship Program and the Daniels Fund Grants Program in Utah, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico.
