Allstate Insurance said it plans to appoint 10 new agency owners in Salt Lake City before the end of the year as the company works to expand its footprint in Utah.
The expansion is expected to create at least 20 insurance jobs as the agents fill out their office staffs, Allstate said.

To be considered, candidates must have a minimum of $50,000 to invest in their agency, the company said. The money doesn’t go to Allstate; it helps ensure that the agent can fund the startup and cover operating expenses of a new agency.
Allstate will also pay $6,000 to anyone who refers a candidate who becomes an agency owner.
