PropertyPond.com, a website to help renters find apartments and homes, said it will donate a rubber duck to Make-a-Wish Utah’s Rubber Ducky Derby for each property listed on its site from Wednesday through Aug. 15.
"We hope that Realtors, property managers and landlords will list as many homes and apartments as possible so that we can make as big of a splash as possible in the derby," said Lee Payne, PropertyPond.com marketing director.

The Rubber Ducky Derby is an annual fundraising event for Make-a-Wish Utah. The ducks "race" around a lazy river in heats, and the sponsor of the winning duck wins a 2013 Dutchman Travel Trailer donated by Sierra RV. The event will be held at the Lindon Aquatics Center Aug. 25.
PropertyPond.com said it will donate up to 166 ducks for the event.
The website noted that this year Make-A-Wish is offering a matching grant of up to $50,000 for every duck donated — so a $6 duck (the minimum sponsorship cost) becomes worth $12 and a $100 duck will be worth $200.
Each duck sponsored raises money to help grant wishes for Utah children from 2½ to 17 years old with a life-threatening medical condition.
For more information on the Rubber Ducky Derby or to sponsor a duck, visit the Make-A-Wish website at www.utah.wish.org.
