"Utah is a hotbed for people interested in social media, and the club was extremely popular when it first launched in 2008," said Krista Parry, president of Social Media Club of Salt Lake City. "The new leadership team felt like it was time to bring the club back and is committed to creating a sustaining and powerful community that will provide networking and educational opportunities from Utah people and nationally known social media gurus."

There are more than 300 chapters in North America of the Social Media Club, which has become a meeting place for industry professionals to talk about emerging trends.

The Salt Lake City chapter will meet monthly.
