The redevelopment agency in the town of Vineyard has given the go ahead to Skip Dunn Construction to begin infrastructure work on the Anderson Geneva development project on the eastern shore of Utah Lake.
The project is the first of four phases that will bring utilities and roads to the 1,680-acre site, which was once the home of the Geneva Steel mill.

"Phase 1 will take Mill Road, which is the extension of Orem Center Street, to 400 North," Gerald Anderson, president of Anderson-Geneva, said of the project that will be completed this fall.
In January 2011, the Vineyard redevelopment agency approved the company’s overall plan, which will be the largest redevelopment project in Utah history, he said. It will include an intermodal hub — commuter and light rail, and bus rapid transit — an industrial park, residential projects, retail, office parks and areas for recreation.
In addition, a town center is being planned that will include a mixed-use area for hotel development.
