Bank of Utah has donated a $30,000 residential building lot in Pleasant View to the Have a Heart organization.
The donation is the first lot donated by a bank in the 12-year history of Have a Heart, a non-profit organization that builds new homes for Utahns with low incomes, military and special-needs families and for those requiring wheelchair accessibility.

Have a Heart is a service arm of the Northern Wasatch Association of Realtors and the Northern Wasatch Home Builders Association.
"We have the same goal as realtors and builders, which is to help people in our communities experience the value of homeownership," said Douglas L. DeFries, president of the Ogden-based Bank of Utah.
Stuart Smith, owner of Mainline Construction, will soon build the new Have A Heart home on the donated 16,000-square-foot lot located on Pleasant View Drive in the Hidden Springs subdivision.
"Have a Heart depends on donations of land, money, labor and materials so we can offer a significantly lower priced home to our new homeowners," Mike Ostermiller, CEO of the NWAOR said in a statement.
Bank of Utah was founded nearly 60 years ago by Frank M. Browning, an Ogden business executive. It has 13 branches, over 300 employees and $750 million in assets.
