In conjunction with the Great Salt Lake Business Expo, the Utah Small Business Coalition will host the SocialMedia 2.0 conference from noon to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the South Towne Expo Center.

The conference, in Sandy at 9575 S. State St., will open with a five-member panel of social media experts from various business sectors, including sports, technology, food service, marketing and home goods.

After the panel, interactive breakout sessions will be conducted to aid Utah business owners in understanding the value of Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter and blogging in business marketing. Presenters have been selected based on their performance and success with social media practices.

For example, Orabrush will share the YouTube videos that translated into market sales for its tongue cleaner.

The Great Salt Lake Business Expo is being offered though a cooperative effort of some 15 chambers of commerce that operate throughout the Salt Lake Valley. The expo, which will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, will bring together representatives from more than 200 businesses for exhibits, networking and educational opportunities.

Admission for the business expo is $5. For more information about the social media conference, contact Ann Marie Thompson, business consultant for the Salt Lake Chamber Women's Business Center, by calling 801-328-5052 or emailing athompson@slchamber.com.
