Westminster College in Salt Lake City, in response to the Utah business community's concerns about a shortage of leadership talent, has created a 10-month Master of Leadership Certificate program to help address the issue.
According to a recent study, 60 percent of companies report they are facing shortages that are impeding performance, and some predict the trend may continue for several years.
Westminster said its MLC program is project-based and built around two-day sessions presented once a month for 10 months. The sessions focus on essential leadership skills utilizing a three-stage process — theory, practice in real-world activities and application in the workplace. Throughout each stage, a faculty coach will be available to work with each participant and consult when needed.
