Business students from Westminster College in Salt Lake City will have an opportunity to "speed date" for possible seats on the board of directors of 15 Utah nonprofits.

The event, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the atrium of the Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business on the Westminster campus, is sponsored by the school's chapter of Delta Mu Delta, the business student honor society.

During this year's "board match," representatives from nonprofits will discuss their organizations and interview graduate and undergraduate students for potential board member positions.

"We think participating on a nonprofit board is a great way for students to enrich their educational experience," said Melissa Koerner, Westminster associate professor of management and 2012 Board Match faculty adviser.

"Time" will be called every 12 minutes. After the nonprofit presentations, students will have the opportunity to provide a summary of their strengths and skills, and submit business cards and résumés.
