Huntsman Corp. revenue on the rise
Huntsman Corp., the worldwide chemicals conglomerate run out of Salt Lake City and The Woodlands, Texas, said its revenue rose 21 percent in fiscal 2011, compared with its prior year, to $11.2 billion. Net income was $247 million, or $1.02 per share, versus $27 million, or 11 cents per share. "Looking forward, we anticipate that the corporation will see an improving global economy," said President and CEO Peter Huntsman. "Most of our businesses have strong upside potential."

Free energy efficiency showcase next week
Employees and managers of Utah businesses are invited to attend Rocky Mountain Power’s free Utah Energy Efficiency Showcase next week. The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the South Towne Exposition Center, 9575 S. State St. Information will be offered about incentives available for energy-efficiency improvements and the latest energy-saving technologies. Registration is free. Lunch will be provided. S. Salt Lake’s business person of the year
Cameron Construction founder John Cameron has been named "Business Person of the Year" by the South Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. He founded Cameron Construction as a commercial contractor in 1973. In presenting its award, the chamber noted Cameron’s continued involvement with the business community, his volunteer efforts and influence on the local construction industry.
New Target location in West Valley City
Target is set to open a store in West Valley City in July, one of 20 outlets nationwide the company plans to open this year. The new store is near 5600 West and Lake Park Boulevard (2500 South). It will employ 200 workers and encompass about 135,000 square feet. Target will host job fairs about two months prior to the store opening. Job candidates may also apply online at Target.com/careers or at in-store kiosks at all Target stores approximately three months out.
