The Episcopal Church has selected Salt Lake City as the site for its 2015 General Convention, an event that will bring approximately 10,000 people and generate $9.23 million in spending.

The event, June 19-July 6, will utilize all components of the Salt Palace Convention Center, which will host exhibits, workshops and various committee meetings.

The convention is a bicameral legislative and business meeting that has been staged every three years since 1785.

Lori Ionnitiu, general convention manager of the Episcopal Church, has worked with Visit Salt Lake on various conventions since 1998.
