Scott Beck has been promoted to president of CHG Healthcare Services, a Salt Lake City-based health-care staffing company. Beck joined CHG in 1999. He has held several top executive positions at the company, including chief marketing officer and chief operating officer.

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco has appointed W. Don Whyte as a director of its Salt Lake City branch. Whyte is president of Kennecott Land in South Jordan.

David A. Jerman of Mesa, Ariz., has been named to the board of directors at Honeyville Food Products in Brigham City. He is a former president and CEO of Bankers Consulting, a holding company based in Phoenix.

Linda Hostetler has been named manager of the new Nordstrom store at City Creek Center in Salt Lake City. The store is set to open March 22. Originally from Australia, Hostetler began her career with Nordstrom in 1999 as a beauty adviser.

Durham Jones & Pinegar, of Salt Lake City, has appointed shareholder Philip C. Van Alstyne to its board of directors. Van Alstyne is managing attorney of the firm’s Las Vegas office. He practices in the firm’s tax, estate planning and litigation sections.

Bank of Utah has hired Zack Matson as a mortgage loan officer at its Orem branch. He has 19 years experience in the mortgage loan industry and previously operated his own mortgage brokerage.

Lisa A. Marcy of the Marcy Law Firm in Salt Lake City has been named a program director at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, which promotes trial and deposition training skills for lawyers nationally and in other countries.

Ryan Hunter, Bank of American Fork business development officer, has been recognized as the Business Person of the Year by the American Fork Chamber of Commerce. Hunter was chosen for his support of the local community.

Joyce Sauni has been promoted to road service agent for C.R. England in West Valley City. Sauni previously worked as an appointment setter for the trucking company’s intermodal division. Robert Snarr and Mitchell Kinder have joined the company as mechanics. Snarr previously worked for the Utah Army National Guard, Kinder in the restaurant industry. Tannath Freeman has joined C.R. England as a service writer. He previously worked in the criminal justice system. Orion Stonebraker has joined the company as a weekend-driver manager. Stonebraker received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah.

Alison McFarlane, Salt Lake Community College assistant vice president of institutional marketing and communications, received the inaugural "Rockie Award" from the American Advertising Federation of Utah. She was one of three finalists for the award in the marketing category.

Ryan L. Marshall of Salt Lake City was elected as a shareholder of Chicago-based law firm of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione.

Daryl Sisk has been named vice president of sales at Employer Solutions Group in Provo. Sisk has 15 years of experience in sales management and training and human resources consulting.

Scott Peterson, president of Midvale-based ASAP Automotive Warehouse, has been named to the board of governors of the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association.

Capital Community Bank, Orem, has named Scott Nicholls as its office manager and mortgage loan officer. He previously worked as a district manager at World Savings Bank in Meridian, Idaho, and as a business development manager at IndyMac Bank in Boise.

Manning Curtis Bradshaw & Bednar has been recognized by the Utah Chapter of Federal Bar Association as Pro Bono Firm of the Year. The law firm also was rated as a Top Tier Law Firm in the 2012 edition of The Best Law Firms in America. Also, Brent V. Manning was listed as 2012 Salt Lake City Litigation-Antitrust Lawyer of the Year, and Alan C. Bradshaw, Steven C. Bednar and Kathleen W. Toth were also recognized.
