With hopes rising that Utah home prices could stabilize by the end of the year, Zions Bank is rolling out a series of free “Homeowners Cafe” seminars designed to educate prospective buyers about the process.
In December, Zions surveyed consumers and found that 73 percent believe home prices will either remain unchanged or increase in 2012, a 4 percent bump from the month before.
“With confidence on the rise and lending rates at historic lows, more people are ready to take steps toward homeownership or refinancing,” said Michele Weaver, vice president and manager of Homeowners Cafe.
The Homeowners Cafe, at 7634 Union Park Ave. in Midvale, functions as an education center for clients and nonclients of Zions Bank.
Seminars will be conducted the third Tuesday of each month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the following dates:
Feb. 21 » West Valley City Housing presents “Grants and Down Payment Assistance Programs.”
March 30 » Coldwell Banker’s Kate Splan presents “Buying Your Next Home.”
April 17 » A certified home inspector from Young Home Inspections presents “Home Inspections.”
