Ann Taylor will open a store in the soon-to-be-completed City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake City.

The women's apparel chain joins upscale specialty retailers such as Tiffany & Co., Coach and Michael Kors that will open in the mall, which is set to debut March 22.

The shopping center, owned and developed by Taubman Centers Inc., will be anchored by Nordstrom and Macy's.

The center is part of the larger mixed-use City Creek development, which includes offices, condominiums and apartments. The shopping center, which will have about 80 stores and restaurants, will be owned and operated by Taubman. The surrounding project will be owned and managed by the development arm of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ann Taylor already has two shops in the Salt Lake City area — in The Gateway shopping center, also in downtown Salt Lake City, and in Fashion Place Mall in Murray.

The company also has Ann Taylor Loft stores in The Gateway, Fashion Place and the Sugar House area of Salt Lake City.
