Because all stores close for a few days in early January and July for inventory and refurbishing, Tuesday Morning won’t reopen until 10 a.m. Jan 9.

The stores are known for offering discounted high-end, brand-name merchandise — never seconds or irregulars — at prices well below those of department, specialty stores and catalogs. Items include home furnishings, bed and bath linens, clothing, patio and garden accessories, crystal and glassware, gourmet foods, cookware and luggage.

"In today’s economy, people are looking for quality, top brands, and don’t want to pay full price. At Tuesday Morning, they don’t have to," Kathleen Mason, the chain’s president and CEO, said in a statement. "We empower shoppers by providing a way to save money without sacrificing quality."

Stores offer brands such as Waterford, Cuisinart, Royal Doulton, Black & Decker, Oster Cookware, Sferra Italian Linens, Peacock Alley, Tommy Bahama, Calvin Klein and well-known domestic and international designer labels.

The Dallas-based company, which opened its first store in 1974, has more than 850 locations nationwide.

Shoppers may register to become preferred customers, alerting them about deals and events, at the store or online at www.tuesdaymorning.com.
