The 12th annual Latino Community Turkey Drive kicked off this week with monetary donations accepted any time through Nov. 19.

Those financial gifts can be mailed to SLC-SVREP, P.O. Box 95438, South Jordan, Utah, 84095, and all funds will be used to purchase turkeys for less-fortunate families at Backman, Edison, Parkview and Woodrow Wilson elementary schools.

Frozen turkeys can be donated one day only — Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Backman Elementary School, 601 N. 1500 West. Donors also can bring cash gifts to this location any time during the drive.

This yearly event is sponsored by the Republican Assembly and the Hispanic Democratic Caucus.
