Farmington, a Davis County community north of Salt Lake City, ranked 12th on CNN's Money list of the 100 best places to live in small-town America.

Four other Utah towns ranked as well: Another Davis County community, North Salt Lake, was 23rd; North Logan in Cache County was 63rd; Lindon in Utah County was 81st; and the Salt Lake County town of Draper, the largest of the quintet with a population of 37,121, was 85th.

Rankers at CNN described Farmington as a "friendly town near the Great Salt Lake … [and] more small town USA than suburb."

The home of Lagoon amusement park, "Farmington is safe and quiet … The town has a mix of expensive turn-of-the-century houses and more-affordable homes; a typical three-bedroom ran around $180,000 in mid-2011. What's more, Farmington's taxes are low, yet the town is in excellent financial shape."

First on CNN's list was Louisville, Colo. In the 100th spot: Sherwood, Ore. —
