Three agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service, are offering tax workshops in Salt Lake City for business owners.

The free, one-day sessions, scheduled later this month and into the fall, "will offer information on employment taxes, types of businesses and their tax treatment and more," according to an IRS-issued statement.

The sessions will be presented at the Salt Lake Community College, Miller Campus, 9750 S. 300 West in Sandy.

Other sponsors include the Salt Lake Region Small Business Development Center at SLCC and the Utah State Tax Commission.

• The Employment Tax Workshop is for small businesses and will offered 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 18, Sept. 22, Oct. 20 and Nov. 17.

• The Choosing a Business Entity Workshop will be offered 8:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 8 and Nov. 10.

• Workshops for specific entities, ranging from LLCs to partnerships, run from 8:30 a.m. to noon on different dates, including Sept. 1 and Oct. 6.
