The Economic Development Corporation of Utah promoted Todd Brightwell to senior vice president of business development and hired two new employees: Beth Colosimo as a business-development manager and Timothy Loftis as an economic-development manager for Salt Lake City.

Holland & Hart attorneys Carl Barton, Mona Burton and David Zimmerman have been recommended in the 2011 edition of The Legal 500 U.S. in the category of Real Estate and Construction. Barton's practice involves loan and financial transactions, Burton represents creditors, debtors, committees, and trustees in cases under the Bankruptcy Code, and Zimmerman's practice focuses on construction litigation, arbitration and mediation, as well as construction transactions.

Wells Fargo Securities hired Barry Lutz to its Investment Banking & Capital Markets team. In this position, he is responsible for providing investment banking and capital markets advisory services to corporate and financial sponsor clients throughout Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming and Montana.

Human Resource Executive magazine and online legal news and rankings site Lawdragon have named Michael Patrick O'Brien of Jones Waldo one of the nation's 100 most powerful employment attorneys. He is a shareholder and chairman of the litigation department at the firm.

Jennifer Kelsey has been elected as the 2011-12 president of the Junior League of Salt Lake City. She has been an active member of JLSLC since 1997, and has held a number of leadership positions in the League, including education vice president and provisional director.  

Travis R. Brackus has joined BHB Consulting Engineers as a project engineer. He graduated from Utah State University in December with a master's in civil engineering.

Salt Lake City-based C.R. England has appointed Kevin Adair to director of OTR customer service for the National, Mexico and Regional divisions, Jeff Perkins and Todd VanSickle as after-hours customer-service representatives, Cindy Gordon as a weekend customer manager and Amanda Ellis as a medical assistant in the on-site Medical Clinic at C.R. England.

Utah Technology Council has added 11 Utah business leaders to the group's Board of Trustees. Named to the Board are: Brad Rencher, vice president and general manager of the Omniture Business Unit of Adobe Systems Inc.; Chet D. Linton, CEO and president of the School Improvement Network; Dee Anderson, associate director of Technology Transfer, BYU; Derek Miller, chief of staff to Gov. Gary Herbert; Kent Bowman, audit partner, Tanner LLC; Keyvan Esfarjani, Co-CEO, IM Flash Technologies LLC; Robert T. Behunin, vice president for Commercialization and Regional Development at Utah State University; Robert G. Harrison, chief information officer at Myriad Genetics Inc.; Scott Petersen, managing director of the Rollins Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at Brigham Young University; Shaun Steel, COO/Partner of VLCM; and Spencer P. Eccles, executive director of the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development. 

Clyde Snow & Sessions President Rodney G. Snow was sworn in as president of the Utah State Bar after Mountain States Super Lawyers recently named him one of the top 75 attorneys in the state.

Carl Kendell and Chris Hansen are the newest members of the Utah Board of Oil, Gas and Mining.

Robert C. Shupe has been selected as the new Logan City Library director, replacing Ronald Jenkins, who will retire July 29, after 30 years of service. Shupe currently works for the Mohave County Library in Kingman, Ariz.

Jeramiah Forbush has joined the NAI West team as chief financial officer. He brings 11 years of accounting experience and has worked in both public and private accounting.
