Personnel from nonprofits looking for advice on surviving in an era of government cutbacks and nervous donors can attend a free two-day workshop, beginning Tuesday at the Utah State Capitol Complex in Salt Lake City.

"Social Enterprise for Nonprofits" is sponsored by American Express; InnVentures Capital Partners, which manages a variety of federal funds targeted for small businesses that cannot get financing through traditional routes; and the Utah Division of Housing and Community Development.

According to a statement, the two-day event "will help attendees look at fresh, sustainable ways to secure the important work of their organizations during the current environment of government cutbacks and tattered foundation investments. Nonprofits will learn to look beyond the tradition of 'Let's get a grant' and to think outside the box for funding."

For information, contact Dan Clayton at 801-945-7896. The daylong sessions will be staged at the Capitol Complex, 300 N. State St. beginning each day at 8:30 a.m.
