Distinctive Properties has merged with Windermere Real Estate-Utah. Founders Darlene Dipo, Debbie Dahmen and DeAnna Dipo have joined Windermere, along with Lisa Jungemann and Jamie Duncan Plott.

Intermountain Financial Group, the Utah Agency for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. (MassMutual), has hired Jon Knudson as disability-income insurance specialist. He continues as a personal adviser and educates, trains and motivates clients and financial representatives about DI insurance.

The University of Utah's mining engineering department has named Thomas Hethmon as the first person to hold its Western Mining Presidential Endowed Chair in Mine Safety. The $1.5 million endowment was built largely with donations from Consol Energy and Barrick Gold North America. Hethmon joins the university faculty after years as a health and safety executive for Dyno Nobel Inc., Rinker Materials Corp. and Phelps Dodge Corp.

Zions Bank has promoted Diana George to manager of its Women's Financial Group. She has worked in the banking industry since 1995, previously working for Wells Fargo and Brighton Bank. The Women's Financial Group launched in 1997 and was the region's first specialty banking organization for women.

The Utah Tourism Industry Coalition and the Utah Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau have elected UTIC's 2011–13 officers and Executive Committee. Its new leadership coordinates trade efforts among the Legislature and more than 100 members from Utah tourism organizations. The new officers: president, Joel Racker, president and CEO of the Utah Valley CVB; vice president, Nathan Rafferty, president of Ski Utah; secretary-treasurer, Neil Wilkinson, director of sales and marketing for Temple Square Hospitality; and past president, Marian DeLay, executive director of Moab Area Travel Council. Executive Committee members are: Scott Beck, president and CEO of Visit Salt Lake; Bill Malone, president of the Park City Chamber/CVB; Rob Slettom, president of Identity Properties; and Barbara Riddle, president and CEO of Davis Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. Conference chairwoman is Sara Toliver, president and CEO of Ogden/Weber CVB.

Salt Lake City-based C.R. England's wholly owned subsidiary, England Logistics, has hired Bruce Lipe as managing director, Ryan Woolf as a controller and Curt Maisey as credit-and-collections manager. In addition, Rigo Sierra is systems analyst manager, Michael Buckner is a driver manager and Justin Kelsh is an account manager.

 F. Scott Pierpont, who was president of Canyons Resort when it was part of the defunct American Skiing Co., has been named senior vice president of sales for Doppelmayr USA, the Salt Lake City-based designer and manufacturer of ski lifts. The 37-year industry veteran is replacing Mike Beeley, who has accepted a reduced role as manager of special projects as he moves toward retirement after more than 40 years in the ski industry.  

Dane E. Huggard has joined BHB Consulting Engineers as a project engineer. He brings four years of engineering experience to the position.
