A survey will soon arrive at some private-sector employers in Utah seeking information about their workplace safety and health-management practices.

This baseline survey is designed to help the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) establish future rules, compliance assistance and outreach programs.

About 19,000 employers nationwide, representing all sizes and industries, will be asked to answer questions such as "Does the company have a safety-management system?" "Does it perform annual inspections?" and "Who manages safety" also "What kinds of hazards are encountered?"

Data collection should be completed by August. All information will be anonymous, an OSHA news release said, and can't be used for enforcement purposes.

Additional information about the survey is available at www.osha.gov/national-survey/national-survey-announcementbaseline-survey.html.
