The Holiday Inn Express flag is flying over what was a Comfort Suites hotel at 7134 So. 700 East in Midvale.

Owned and managed by Pearl Hospitality Inc., the 66-room hotel recently underwent a $400,000 renovation. Every room was upgraded, with dividers installed between sleeping and living areas, said Gina LaBarre, a vice president with InterContinental Hotels Group, parent company of Holiday Inn Express.

The renovation is part of Holiday Inn's $1 billion modernization program, launched in 2007.
