Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah is one of 16 national organizations to receive support from 100 Women in Hedge Funds to build its workplace mentoring programs.
"The generosity of 100 Women in Hedge Funds will allow us to significantly expand [the] programs, which are proven to help children of single, low-income and incarcerated parents to achieve in and out of school," said Big Brothers Big Sisters of America President and CEO Karen Mathis.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah is partnering with Comcast to serve children from Sandy Elementary School.
This is the second year in which students are bused to Comcast headquarters to meet one-to-one with mentors.
For more than 30 years Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah has been a volunteer- and donor-supported agency, providing children with positive role models in an effort to help them avoid risky behaviors.
