Police in Hawaii have identified a man killed in a single-vehicle crash last week as Christopher A. Sprecher, 60, of Salt Lake City.
The Hawaii Police Department said Sprecher was driving an SUV on a road in the Kohala Ranch gated subdivision in North Kohala on Sept. 10 when he lost control of the vehicle, ran off the right shoulder and hit a tree.
Sprecher was taken to North Hawaii Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
He was not wearing a seat belt, according to police.
