The NOVA Chamber Music Series hit the road Sunday afternoon for a special free concert in Salt Lake City's Memory Grove. A few dozen music enthusiasts, passers-by and dogs heard Utah Symphony percussionists Keith Carrick and Eric Hopkins play short, lively selections in front of the World War I Memorial, then strolled over to the Meditation Chapel to hear the horn quartet of Ron Beitel, Llewellyn Humphreys, Nathan Basinger and Stephen Proser. Violinists Hasse Borup and Kasia Sokol-Borup gave an invigorating mini-recital in Memorial House for a paying audience. The event was a preview of NOVA's upcoming season, in which most of Sunday's musicians will play; details are at novaslc.org. —
