St. George police have identified the man killed when his pickup was struck by an out-of-control cement truck on Red Hills Parkway.

SGPD confirmed that Bruno Loreda, 52, died at the scene of the Wednesday morning crash near 1300 East. Both Loreda's passenger, a 37-year-old man, and the 53-year-old driver of the cement truck escaped with minor injuries.

The 6:20 a.m. accident occurred when the westbound truck failed to negotiate a curve, going into the oncoming, eastbound lane and hitting the pickup.

The cause of the accident, including whether recent rainfall and mud may have been factors, remained under investigation.
