A woman who was arrested last week after a 45-minute standoff with police in Kearns was charged Friday with a first-degree felony for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend during an argument over money on Aug. 29.

The 33-year-old was charged with first-degree aggravated robbery and aggravated domestic violence assault, a third-degree felony.

According to court documents, the woman's 46-year-old boyfriend took money out of his sock and began counting it in their home near 5400 S. 5400 West. The woman demanded that he give her the money, but he refused. The argument eventually escalated until the woman threatened her boyfriend with a kitchen knife.

As the man began walking out of the house, she allegedly stabbed him in the back and threw a paint can at him.

The man fell to the ground, and his girlfriend allegedly stood over him stabbing him several times. Then, according to prosecutors, the defendant directed a pit bull in the house to attack the man. He was later treated at Intermountain Medical Center for several stab wounds and a dog bite to his right arm.

Police surrounded the home briefly after the assault, but the woman eventually surrendered and was arrested.
