Wildland fire crews were readying to battle a blaze that started Wednesday in a remote wilderness area of the Dixie National Forest.

The Color Country Interagency Fire Center said the fire had started sometime around 10 a.m. in the Pine Valley Wilderness. A small hand crew from the U.S. Forest Service assisted by two helicopters and a fixed wing plane began attacking the fire Wednesday.

By the afternoon, the fire was estimated to be between three and five acres. The cause of the fire was unknown.
