A teenage girl from Springville who was reported as missing and endangered after she and her 19-year-old beau left Utah County was found safe in Pennsylvania.
Springville police announced Thursday evening that Katy Kendall was located in Beaver Falls, about 1,800 miles from her home. Police said arrangements were being made to reunite Katy with her family.
Katy left home in the early morning hours of April 23 with Zachary Metcalf and cut off communication with her family, according to police. Police upgraded the girl from a runaway to a missing and endangered child after they learned that the two had left Utah County.
Metcalf, who is from Texas, is reportedly in the U.S. Army Reserve and came to Utah in March or April, according to police. The girl's mother told police that Katy began seeing Metcalf in mid-April and said in an online post that the two were engaged.
Police did not say Thursday whether Metcalf also was located in Beaver Falls. The last known location the two were seen was in Salt Lake City on April 23, where police say the two pawned the Kendall family's laptop.
