West Valley City • The Utah Grizzlies have signed forward T.J. Syner for the 2014-15 season, the club announced Tuesday morning.

Syner split the last two seasons between the ECHL's Reading Royals and the AHL's Hershey Bears. He scored 28 goals and had 35 assists in 72 games with Reading. He finished with three goals and five assists in 48 games with the Bears.

Syner joins his cousin, Barry Almeida, on this year's Grizzlies team.

"T.J. is a very dynamic player," said Utah coach and general manager Tim Branham. "His speed and skill allow him to put pressure on the opposition. Our fans will enjoy watching him play."

The Grizzlies open the regular season on Oct. 17 against the Idaho Steelheads at the Maverik Center.
