Searchers recovered the body of a Riverton man missing since Sept. 1 at Flaming Gorge Reservoir late Saturday night.

The Utah Department of Public Safety dive team and Daggett County Sheriff's Office using sonar when at 5:40 p.m. they located what they believed to be the body of Charles Darrell Thomas.

Thomas, 69, had been missing since his boat capsized on Labor Day.

Daggett County, aided by Summit County Search and Rescue's Remote Operated Vehicle, recovered the body at 11:15 p.m., and positive identification was made at 11:45 p.m.

A news release said the body was nearly a mile from the shore of Antelope Flats and 1 mile from the shore of Lucerne Marina, approximately in the middle of the bay. Thomas was located about 200 feet from where the boat was found, the release said.
