The S-Line Greenway, a mile-long green space from 500 East to McClelland Street (1050 East) includes the S-Line streetcar, public plazas, art, walking paths, a bocce court and a new segment of Parley's Trail. It opened officially Friday.

"The Greenway portion of the S-Line really elevates the entire project to a beautiful and practical community amenity," said Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker. "We've been able to create a multi-modal corridor that will have positive impacts on local air-quality issues while creating a mile-long, user-friendly outdoor space that will support the existing neighborhood and attract new residents and businesses."

Salt Lake City and its redevelopment agency paid for the design and construction of the $7.6 million Greenway. South Salt Lake City, in cooperation with Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation, completed the Parley's Trail connection from 500 East to Central Pointe TRAX station.
