Two drivers died Saturday in a southern Utah crash.

Jay Russell, 53, was driving north on U.S. Highway 89 while Richard Nutt, 78, was driving south on the highway, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. At 12:55 p.m., Russell's Acura drifted into the southbound lanes and crashed into Nutt's Civic head-on near mile marker 8 near Big Water, according to UHP.

Investigators are not sure why the Acura drifted into the other lanes.

Russell, from Page, Ariz., was not wearing a seat belt, troopers report. Nutt, from Douglas, Ga., was wearing his seat belt, but also died.

Neither men had any passengers.
