Kansas City, Kan. • D.C. United shocked Sporting Kansas City with three first-half goals in an eight-minute span for a 3-0 victory on Saturday night in a matchup of the top teams in the MLS Eastern Conference.

Fabian Espindola scored in the 24th minute, Chris Rolfe in the 28th and Perry Kitchen in the 31st to move United (13-7-4) one point ahead of Sporting KC (12-7-6) into the conference top spot. Luis Silva assisted on the first two goals.

Red Bulls 4, Impact 2 • In Harrison, N.J., Thierry Henry and Bradley Wright-Phillips each scored two second-half goals to lead New York over Montreal.

Crew 3, Dynamo 0 • In Columbus, Ohio, Justin Meram had a goal and an assist to lead the Crew over Houston.

Toronto FC 2, Fire 2 • Quincy Amarikwa scored in the 90th minute as host Toronto tied Chicago.
