Sandy police have arrested a man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a girl at a Target store earlier this month.

The victim was shopping with a friend about 4 p.m. Aug. 7 at Target, 10130 S. State St., when the man approached her, police have said. He allegedly spoke briefly to her and then assaulted her inside the store.

Police received several tips after media posted photos of the suspect.

A 47-year-old man turned himself in to police Wednesday after learning they were looking for him, officers reported.
