Salt Lake City police are offering an unspecified cash reward for information leading to the arrest of a man suspected of robbing at least four businesses in under two weeks.
Marshall James Roberts, 25, is wanted in connected with the robberies of two credit unions, a book store and a coffee shop, Salt Lake police said in a news release Thursday evening.
Tellers from at least three of the businesses told police that the suspect handed them a note saying he had a gun and demanding money. After one of the robberies, Roberts and a female accomplice allegedly evaded police dogs, according to Salt Lake police.
Detectives think Roberts may also be their lead suspect in at least two more cases out of Salt Lake City, according to police.
Roberts, who police say is a heroin addict, is described as a 6-foot-1-inch skinny man with curly hair. He is known to frequent the Salt Lake shelter area or stay in local motels, sometimes with his female accomplice, according to police.
Police are urging anyone with information about Roberts's whereabouts to call the Salt Lake City Police Department at 801-799-3000. Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous may text the keyword TIPSLCPD and any relevant information to 274637.
