College Basketball • The House That Wooden Built is waterlogged.

Pauley Pavilion, UCLA's storied basketball arena where John Wooden coached teams that won eight of his 10 national championships, was drying out Wednesday after the court was deluged by 10 inches of water when a 93-year-old pipe burst near the campus in Westwood.

UCLA Chancellor Gene Block said workers were busy cleaning up and assessing damage.

Athletic director Dan Guerrero said the men's and women's basketball teams will play in Pauley this fall, either on a refurbished or new court. The current court cost $500,000, he said.

Timberwolves sign ex-Jazz guard

NBA • Minnesota has reached an agreement with veteran guard Mo Williams. The Wolves reached the agreement with the free agent from Portland on Monday and made the announcement Wednesday.

Williams gets a one-year, $3.75 million contract to serve as the primary backup to point guard Ricky Rubio. Williams gets a one-year, $3.75 million contract to serve as the primary backup to point guard Ricky Rubio.

Williams, who played for Utah during the 2012-13 season, can play both guard positions, which would allow for the Wolves to play him with Rubio late in games. He will turn 32 in December and is entering his 12th season in the league.

Isner complains

Tennis • Two-time runner-up John Isner was beaten in his opening match at the Citi Open on Wednesday, then complained that he and fellow American Steve Johnson played on a secondary court instead of in the main stadium.

The fifth-seeded and 12th-ranked Isner failed to earn a single break point and lost to the 68th-ranked Johnson 6-7 (5), 6-3, 7-6 (6), despite hitting 29 aces. Isner was coming off a hard-court title in Atlanta last week.
