Business has been steady at Questar Corp.
The gas company reported net income of $40.3 million in the quarter ending June 30, up a bit from earnings of $39.4 million in the same period a year earlier. The gain amounted to 23 cents per share compared to 22 cents a share last year.
The quarterly report noted that Questar Gas delivered natural gas to more than 953,800 customers in Utah and surrounding states, an increase of nearly 15,500 customers in the past year.
In addition, Questar Gas reached an agreement to acquire Eagle Mountain City's 6,000-customer municipal gas distribution system. The agreement is still being finalized, the company noted.
