Firefighters in Price found a man's body in the basement of a house where a suspicious fire broke out on Tuesday.

The house at 423 S. 200 West was full of smoke, with flames spreading to the attic when crews arrived about 11 a.m., Price Police Chief Kevin Drolc reported Tuesday night.

While putting out the fire, crews found a man's body in the basement.

Police were interviewing several witnesses as of Monday night. John Serfustini, editor of the Carbon County Sun Advocate, said officers were seen taking a man into custody at the house, but he was not formally arrested as of Tuesday night.

The Tribune will report further details as they become available.
