Unified Police say a Kearns man got a tumultuous awakening Monday night, but was unhurt, when an alleged drunk driver slammed her pickup truck into his living room and kitchen.

UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said a 911 call came in at 11:17 p.m. from the homeowner at 4178 W. 5820 South. He reported the truck was stuck by debris, along with its driver, inside his home.

Hoyal said the 28-year-old female also was uninjured, but she was arrested and booked into Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The woman was northbound on 4180 West when she came to a "T" intersection at 5820 South. Instead of turning left or right, she plowed straight through the home's front yard and into the house.

The homeowner, asleep in a back bedroom at the time, was the only person in the residence at the time.
