Two women claiming to be law enforcement officers duped a pair of west Salt Lake City men before driving off in a car belonging to one of them.
Salt Lake Police Sgt. Robin Heiden said the men were approached by the women at 962 W. 200 South about 9 p.m. Sunday. After claiming to be "agents," the women ordered the men to sit on the curb, saying that uniformed police were on the way to the scene.
Meantime, the women — one a Latina about 30 years old, heavily built, with black hair and wearing a blue shirt and blue Capri-style pants, and the other a white woman of undetermined age, thin, with red hair and wearing a blue shirt and black shorts — took one male's wallet and keys, then drove off in his car.
Heiden said it was unknown whether the women were implying they specifically were immigration agents, or from some other law enforcement entity.
