Police were seeking leads in a weekend incident where a youth fired multiple gunshots at two men following him as he walked on a street in west Salt Lake City.

The incident occurred 5:12 p.m. Sunday at 309 S. 1000 West. No one was hurt, but at least one of the bullets struck a nearby home.

Police say a boy told two neighborhood men he had seen the suspect with a firearm. They in turn approached the suspect, who was walking with a female, and asked him if he had a gun.

The suspect said he did not. However, when the neighbors continued to follow him down the street, he turned and fired several times in their direction.

Police said the suspect appeared to be Latino, about 17 years old. He was thinly built, wearing a red-and-black plaid shirt, black pants, a red and black hat and red shoes.

His female companion was described as Latina, about 15, thin, with mid-length black hair and wearing a purple shirt and light-colored blue jeans.
