Schaper wins PBR event at EnergySolutions Arena

Nathan Schaper of Grassy Butte, N.D., won the Professional Bull Riders event on Monday night at EnergySolutions Arena.

Schaper, competing in only his second PBR competition since suffering a broken leg in February, posted a combined score of 167 on two bulls. He was the only competitor in the field to complete both eight-second rides.

In the opening round, Schaper posted a score of 79.5 on a bull named Glitter Big. In the final round, his score of 87.5 on Mister Clark wrapped up his victory.

Australian Kurt Shepard finished second in the standings with one ride worth 87.5 points. Scottie Knapp was third with an 87. Markus Mariluch managed an 81.
